Our Loans

Everyone who completes an Interest Form will be contacted by a lending team member to determine potential eligibility. Typically, borrowers have been in business at least two years and are located in the DC, Baltimore, or Mid-Atlantic region.

Start by completing the Loan Interest Form. A member of our lending team will review your information and reach out to learn more about your goals, timeline, finances, and project. If the project appears to be a fit, you’ll be invited to complete a full loan application and provide documentation. From there, CFE will assess project feasibility, financial viability, mission fit, and next steps toward loan approval and closing.

Our typical timeline is 60-90 days, depending on the complexity of the project. Smaller business or nonprofit loans may move more quickly, while real estate acquisition, construction, or larger project financing may take longer.

CFE will do its best to share resources or refer applicants to other organizations when possible.
